loud before the hurricane
Jet stream
begins my last parade
Before the
words are spoken
Just
remember all promises are broken
Not with my
last words
The last
words you’ll hear me say...
I finally
got a world away.
Living with
someone
Sleeping
with no one
We had no
diamonds
We had no
hope
We were
racing to a red light
And the red
light never seemed to change
But you see,
my dear
I had the
sense
To get out
of the fast lane
I finally
got a world away.
And it
doesn’t really matter
If you hear
the words I say

The Spanish
sun
Never seems
to fade
And the
sunflowers bow
As they wait
for the rain

Depression
never fully goes away

Why do we
fear it?
Is
staying in place worth
Not
knowing what is around the next corner?
Taking a
step is not jumping off a cliff.
Safety
can be death.
Familiarity
can suffocate.
The abyss
you fear
Is a womb
of rose petals,
A soft
pillow of reward for the risk you took
in moving
off your position.
Jump and
touch the sky.
Your arms
extend into the infinite,
Illuminating
the choices floating
on the
winds of your mind,
Inviting
them to tea,
Making
them into friends instead of demons.
Have some
cream with your decision?
A biscuit
with that firm affirmative?
You leave
doubt in ashes behind you,
As
choosing becomes a simple task
Because
suddenly with great clarity
You see
the ultimate freedom is
The
freedom to change your mind.
